This guide describes the new Code on Aggregate Gantt functionality included in Kimble's Winter 18 Release. We have attached a .pdf version of this guide for your convenience.
In Kimble Release Winter 18, Kimble has enhanced the Code display functionality on Aggregate Gantt views, such as the Assignment Demand screen and Resource Schedule screen.
Kimble can be configured to display an overlay value on the Aggregate Gantt for Resources on Aggregate Gantt views.
While in earlier versions Kimble could display the Account Code as an overlay value (screenshot below), it is now possible for a Code to be entered against each individual Assignment.
This enhanced functionality can be used to surface key information through Aggregate Gantts, information which facilitates Resourcing decisions – for example, whether a Resource is Onsite or Offsite.
|The behavior of the Code field and of the overlay value on the Resource Aggregate Gantt are controlled by organization wide settings. To modify these settings, please have your Kimble System Administrator contact Kimble. The default configuration for this setting will display the Account Code field from the Account on Aggregate Gantt views.|
To set a Code on an assignment:
1. Navigate to the Activity Assignments page.
2. Click the cog icon next to the relevant Activity Assignment.
3. In the pop up menu, click .
4. In the Edit Activity Assignment window, enter a Code.
For clarity of display, it is recommended that you enter no more than 3 or 4 characters.
5. Click .
You must refresh the Gantt view (which will happen if you make changes to the Assignment, leave the page and return or refresh using your browser), then the Code is displayed as an overlay on the Resource Aggregate Gantt.
A Resource may be assigned multiple Activities, each with a different Code, on one day.
- In this case, the Code for the Assignment with the highest probability is displayed.
- If both have the same probability, the Code for the Assignment with the highest usage is displayed.
Codes are only displayed when you are fully zoomed in on the Gantt. Click the + at the bottom right of the Gantt to zoom in.
